Arijita has received talim in Indian Classical Music (Vocal) for more than 30 years from renowned Gurus of Vishnupur, Agra, Kirana and Patiala gharanas. She started her learning from Sri Biswanath Ghorui and later from Pt. Nalini Chakraborty for 5 years. However, as Pandit ji’s health was deteriorating, on suggestion from Pt. A.T Kanan Sahib, she continued her training for next 8 years from Sri Kumar Ray. For 16 years she has learnt from Pt. Kalyan Basu, senior gandabadh shagirdh/disciple of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of Patiala Gharana and Ustad Dabir Khan.

 

She was appreciated and received blessings from renowned musicians of the age including Pt. Kumar Prasad Mukherjee, Smt. Kalyani Ray, Smt. Dipali Nag, Sri Dulal Roy amongst others.

She has the titles of Sangeet Visharad from Chandigarh, Sangeet Ratna from Sarba Bharatiya Sangeet O Sanskriti Parishad in Indian Classical Music
